Exploring the Vibrant World of Jessy Plant
Now open to the public, I am grateful to Prema Arts Centre for inviting me to exhibit, allowing me to share my experience of the world, and I hope you take something from it too.
A Symphony of Colour and Emotion
In my creative practice, my intuitive design style mirrors my curatorial approach, focusing on compositional balance and expressive colour palettes. My synesthetic experiences gives me constant inspiration, translating into vibrant visual journals that capture the essence of my sensory experience. As I immerse myself in the act of painting, I find a sense of peace, a momentary respite from the overwhelming nature of my synesthesia.
Invitation
As you explore my exhibition, I hope you'll experience a little joy in what can be a very dark world. Putting together an exhibition is both exhilarating and daunting, but for me, it's a testament to my passion and dedication to sharing my unique perspective with the world. It can be a very vunerable experience as I offer my artwork up to the scrutany of other, I am encoraged by the kind words that I have recieved so far. As well as looking forward to a few "Meet the Artist" days that where I will be bring a bit of my studio to Prema and painting a few new pieces on site.
Navigating Life's Twists and Turns
My artistic journey has been marked by both challenges and triumphs. Taking a hiatus from painting following a difficult year, I found purpose in my role as Gallery Manager for Lansdown Hall & Gallery. Here, I had the opportunity to curate exhibitions featuring the work of local artists such as Beth Quarmby, DiSect, and the Stroud Artist Cooperative. Additionally, I continued my involvement with SVA, contributing to the organization of the upcoming Site Festival in June.
Returning to painting has been a cathartic experience for me, offering moments of healing meditation amidst life's hectic demands. Balancing my artistic practice with my busy work schedule has posed challenges, but I continue to be dedicated to my creative practice.
If you get a chance to visit the exhibition please consider sharing photos where you can, invite friends and leave a comment in the book.
